West Coast at Thunder

West Coast HD, our sponsoring dealership is running some very special events for customers and friends this year at Thunder in the Glens.

First off, the WCHD stand is moving to just off the roundabout on the Grampian Road, next to Blacks leisure. They will be selling accessories, clothing and displaying lots of WCHD Customs while Eric plays the tunes.

West Coast Harley-Davidson hit the road in August as we head up to Aviemore to celebrate at Thunder. Thunder in the Glens has attracted world wide attention over the years as the Sturgis of the Highlands. The West Coast Harley-Davidson Team will be in Aviemore for the weekend and we’ll be bringing more than just our usual Marquee. This year we’re in a whole new location – this year you’ll find us located off Grampian Road by Blacks outdoor shop. We’ll have our latest custom builds on display by our event trailer for you to see. Come on up and discuss your mild to wild custom dreams with our aftersales team. The West Coast Harley-Davidson Motorclothes Marquee will also be at our new location, filled with a vast array of West Coast Dealer Teeshirts, souvineers, collectibles, riding gear and much more. Our selection of amazing clothing and apparel will go, if you’re not fast you’re last so be sure to stop by.  Due to popular demand we’re bringing back our chillout area with our deckchairs, tables and parasols. This year our resident DJ Eric will be playing top tunes throughout the weekend.

West Coast are also collaborating with local cafe, Mambos, which is just by the Train Station on Grampian Road, hosting a Welcome Party on Friday and a Big Breakfast on the Saturday morning. Look up our event calendar for the details of these two special events.

Killearn and BudaWest

A short ride out to Killearn to accommodate attendance at the BudaWest event at West Coast HD. It started a gloomy looking day but stayed dry and actually ended up pretty warm. Kenny was a newbie at leading under the supervision of Jigger and Stevie, nobody died so that has to rank as a success.

Kenny chose a route to get out into the country quickest via the Stockiemuir Road which worked quite well but perhaps the ride back in via the Clyde Tunnel and then picking up the old A8 wasn’t the best. It was a bit gridlocked at times…not helped I think by some road works on the westbound M8 which seemed to be bringing a lot of local traffic off the motorway onto the back roads.

Not to worry, we all made it back in time for the sun coming out and the entertainment at West Coast. Quite a few cases of temporary retinal burns were reported by the reflected light from Tommy’s incredibly polished helmet….has there ever been a helmet that had so much attention…all that buffing.

And of course lets not forget the Cult of Lairdy which remained strong in CVH members and entertainers alike.

West Coast are Hiring: Driver Opportunity

Due to our expanding appeal as the UK’s No1 Dealership, we are in need of several experienced and loyal members who would be available to represent the company by collecting or delivering bikes to and from our widening customer base. We now buy and sell bikes all over the British Isles and our working hours are now a full 7-day week – could you be part of the #1 Team?

We have a unique opportunity for an individual who would be in the fortunate position to be available 7 days a week. This person will be part of a larger team of drivers who will communicate through our Logistics Whatsapp Group, ensuring an equal spread of the work.

As part of our team, you will be provided a company uniform (shirt) and be our representative during all customer interactions during collection or delivery. As well as being confident in delivering an outstanding customer experience every time, it is imperative you will be skilled in handling the largest of our bike family, the Tourers and in particular the Ultra Limited. Training will be provided as far as loading, unloading and strapping bikes down but unfortunately for obvious reasons, confidence and skill in handling the largest of our bikes cannot be provided.

If you are interested, then please contact John Weir Head of Aftersales

You can also reach John on 0141 883 1450 – selecting option 1 for Harley-Davidson, then 4 for all enquiries.

West Coast Garage Party ’22

It wouldn’t be the end of another year without a wee Garage party at our sponsoring dealership West Coast Harley Davidson.

Not a Clyde Valley HOG event as such but I am sure you will identify a fair few “well-kent” faces in the audience for this event.

The West Coast Nativity
The West Coast Nativity…..three wise men at a distant, following a star and a heavenly creation under a blanket….under the watchful eye of Rudolph the red nose biker….

Around 150 guests were present to see the latest builds in the workshop, hear about the latest in Harley engine tuning from Don Performance, see the latest two custom creations to emerge from the West Coast “Custom Haus”, a pair of 131ci powered bikes, a Street Glide in a Harley #1 endowed Red and a Breakout in Black with a unique 1-3-1 playing card styled paint design and hear from some of the craftspeople engaged to bring these machines to life. Tom Hurley the bike upholstery master was there to give an insight into what goes into his hand crafted bike saddles, and Gavin Brown to tell us how much prep work and how many coats of paint go into the jaw-dropping creations he produces.

And of course there was time aplenty to speak to the team, discuss ideas, indulge in beer, burgers and Hot Dogs and have a browse at the bikes looking for new homes in the showroom.

Meet the Chapter Night August ’22

Wednesday the 10th August turned out to be one of the warmest days of 2022, at least here in the West of Scotland and so it was set fair for a bumper Meet the Chapter night hosted by West Coast Harley Davidson.

We had a full house of Clyde Valley HOG members from all over to make the most of the fine weather.

In ’22 Meet the Chapter nights were every second Wednesday of the month at the dealership and we hope to continue this in 2023. Keep an eye out on our Events or News feed in the New Year for all the gen.

Easter Egg Run ’22

Ready for the Off

The 2022 Childrens Hospital Easter Egg Run this year coincided with an Easter weekend event at WCHD- a double header!

The weekend of the 16th and 17th April was a bit of a double header for the chapter. Our sponsoring dealership, West Coast Harley Davidson were running a Grand Easter Weekend event in aid of Glasgow Childrens Charity and the Chapter ran a BBQ stall and all donations went to the charity funds. But coincident with this, the Sunday was the annual easter egg run and a number of members joined the huge ride through the city passing through the grounds of Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to let the kids see the spectacle, then on for an event at Braehead shopping centre.

The sun shone ( though not the warmest of days and windy), crowds were out…did anyone notice the entire church that turned out I think around Partick somewhere?

Anyway after a stop at Braehead to take in some of the atmosphere we all gradually shipped out along the road to pick up with the easter weekend festivities at WCHD. Good Times!
