So you do all these miles and want to make them count. Well, you have come to the right place.
Clyde Valley HOG will help you record those miles all without leaving the comfort of your own home. OK, so you may need to get up and go to the Garage/Shed or wherever you keep your pride and joy.
Got two or more Harleys? You Lucky, lucky….B….Biker , but not a problem, we can deal with that.
Don’t ride a Harley yourself but are registered as a Pillion/Associate member? …even you can get in on the action as it all counts!
We want Clyde Valley HOG to climb that leader board for annual chapter mileage and be competing with our near neighbours who win the national honours regularly. Dunedin and Geordie HOG both submit some serious mileages each year. But we have loads of ride outs that get broadly fairly decent turn-outs and we know that means we must be accruing those miles. And then we have members riding off on Continental trips every single year.
So how to get in on the action?
Ride 365. If you have yet to register, take a note of your VIN, HOG membership number and a photo of your mileage and get it to our Mileage Rep. You will reach him at the email below.
If you are a pillion, you can use this same info to get added to your profile as well!
Ideally you want to take a photo as early in the year as possible of your odometer and send it in as that years start mileage.
Sometime around the end of November there is a cut-off date ( the Mileage Rep will let us know) when it is and you take another photo of each odometer reading and fire it across to be registered.
All miles within that year get tallied up and added to the chapter total.
But you can score too!

So HOG award mileage patches for accrued miles across the life of your membership. This tally runs continuously and as you reach the various thresholds, get standing by your letterbox as a wee package will arrive from HOG with a Certificate, pin and patch. 1000, 5000, 10000, 25000, 40000miles and so on.
What if I change my Bike?
Before you wave a teary goodbye to your old wheels for the last time, take a photo and let the Mileage Rep know. And while you are in picking up the keys to your new machine, you can take a note of the new VIN and Odometer reading and get that machine registered and off you go!
Can I submit my mileage more often?
You might find yourself literally a few miles short of a covetted mileage patch, so once you think you have crossed the required total, of course you can ask for an updated mileage to be submitted.
What if I am in more than one chapter?
Well of course Clyde Valley HOG will be your favourite, so we would love you to give us your miles (only one Chapter can have them )for the Ride 365 Chapter Challenge, we won’t waste them if you make sure in your Ride 365 panel, that your chapter says Clyde Valley HOG….please, pretty please…

And what about those long haul journeys down Route 66?
Well don’t forget those hire machines can count too. If you Hire a Harley from a Dealer or HD supported Hire Outlet you can take a note of your start and End mileage and have it added to your totals.
So get started and let the Mileage Rep know your miles! email mileage@clydevalleyhog.com
ABC’s of Touring
So while you are accruing all these miles why not stop and take asnap of some of the places you go through. Usually it just take a minute. Stop by the road sign for the town, village or city and make sure your bike is in the shot along with the sign and an approved means of proving the year… ( usually that years membership book or a current Enthusiast Magazine cover) note, just a photocopy of the front will do!

26 places names ( ideally from A-Z ) Two National park Signs, any District signs and any Harley Dealerships you visit all count. Attending a Rally? there should be a ABC’s flag there too but if not, then a sign for the rally with your bike and the other evidence will do too.
Get around 26 points and you get a Badge and Pin, usually around April time, get over 52 points and you get a voucher to buy merch from HD.com that pretty much covers your annual HOG membership price…so whats not to like? Get snapping riders. Read all the rules here.
